- PROGRAM NAME: CRstrip.FW
-
- DESCRIPTION: Removes hard carriage returns from text files
- imported into Framework.
-
- ISSUE: September, 1985
- PAGE: 45
-
- SOFTWARE VERSIONS: Framework, versions 1.0, 1.1
-
- FUNCTION: This program removes Returns, put at the end of each
- line by Framework when it reads in text files.
-
- FILES NEEDED: CRstrip.FW
- CRstrip.Do
- A text file, brought into a Framework word frame.
-
- SETUP INSTRUCTIONS: Since CRstrip is set up as a macro, use it
- by loading it to the desktop, then press RECALC (F5). A prompt
- appears on the bottom of the screen instructing you to select a
- word frame and to press Alt-S. If you don't already have your
- text file loaded into a word frame on the desktop, load it now.
- When you press Alt-S, you will be prompted for the column number
- of the right margin. You must type a number corresponding to the
- width of the document as it was originally saved, otherwise
- CRstrip may not remove all the Returns correctly. If you do not
- know what line length was used for the document, use a value that
- is greater than the longest line in the file. Even so, not all
- documents will be 100% converted, and some minor editing may be
- necessary. Some documents have left-justified titles that are
- not followed by a Return. These will not always be correctly
- formatted by CRstrip, so you may need to check them.
